Carol Kahler was approved as the new principal at Shawsville Middle School at the August 2 school board meeting.
Kahler previously served as an Administrator on Assignment at CPS, CES and at the School Board Office. She was also previously principal at Gilbert Linkous Elementary School. She received a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University, a master’s degree from the University of Virginia and an educational specialist degree from George Washington University.
“I am excited to join the Shawsville Middle community where children are valued and academics are a priority,” said Kahler.
“Ms. Kahler has strong leadership experience and is excited about this new opportunity,” said Superintendent Mark Miear. “Her experience teaching at the middle school level will enhance her skills and be of benefit to the Shawsville and Elliston communities.”
Kahler will begin her new duties today, August 3.
